The second installment of birthday number nine was from all accounts fun for everyone. We finished the cake and you got more gifts (of course). Here’s the guest list:

Paw, Mee Maw, Paw Paw Jimmy, Uncle Denny and Aunt Ann, Uncle Chris, Andrea, Courtney and Nick Wray. Wes, Katie, Tyler and Brittany. Of course Mom and me and last but not least . . . well I guess she is least . . . Emmy Lou.

Happy Birthday Savannah! We love you!

Happy Ninth Birthday Part 1

Look out! Savannah is nine years old already. I’m tired of saying and hearing other people saying “it’s hard to believe you’re already x-years old” . . . But it is.

No pool party this year. The first of the two-part birthday party was a sleepover with a few select friends. You mentioned wanting to have a sleepover while at Mee-Maw’s and she volunteered to have it at her house. There’s the basement and the Wii, etc so that was settled.

Zoe, Madison and Carly arrived at about 4:30 and there was hot dog and marshmallow roasting, birthday horn blowing, Wii playing, and of course cake and ice cream.

Part two is tomorrow night when the rest of the family including grown ups come over to finish off the sweets. Here’s a photo and a couple of videos to commemorate.

Rodeo Art

You went to a rodeo in Lawrenceburg with Paw this weekend. You learned a lot about roping and riding. It must have been on your mind when you took a shower Saturday night. This is what you drew on the wall.

Shovel in the Sand

Our first day at Latitude 29 was good. Got some sun, but avoided a burn. We’re on the west end of Panama City Beach. Can’t complain about the weather either. Looking forward to the rest of the week. Of course you were constantly impatient about going down to the beach, but that was to be expected.

Cowgirl Hat

You asked for a hat that you saw at Co-Op and of
Course Paw got it for you. We had lunch at Kim Beckman’s today for Memorial Day. You almost baked under the carport and spent most of the time inside with the other youngsters.

School’s Out!

Third Grade is over. Mom and I didn’t see you for a couple of days, because you went to Mee-Maw’s. You had a big first week of summer We got some photos from time to time. You caught crawfish, regular fish, and rode the tractor among other things.

Mother’s Day Art

Your class made these this week. I liked it and thought you did a great job. Mom kept it displayed at the back door for several days. It says:

I’ve made some May flowers with my fingers and thumb, so you’ll have these memories for years to come!

Oh, and another significant thing about this piece is that it is one of the first of your pieces signed with a cursive signature. Your class learned some cursive over the last couple of weeks and you are very proud. Me too!

Hamburger Heaven

We had a Daddy and Daughter evening yesterday. Mom dropped you off at my work and you played with all the spare phones in my office.

Then we went to Hardee’s and you called it “Hamburger Heaven”. You still wouldn’t admit that it was better than McDonalds even when I asked you to take the happy meal toy out of the equation.
